Passion in the Workplace

Passion isn’t a soap opera. It’s not that ‘kiss-me-like-you-want-to-eat-my-mouth-off’ thing I hear people saying they wish they had. Neither is passion what you find inside the pages of Vogue. Passion is how life is supposed to be lived, an ideal that people should strive to find within themselves. And most people have it!  But for the life of me,I cannot figure out where the passion I used to see in people’s eyes has gone.

Instead of working to live, somewhere along the line people started living to work. That’s just fine and dandy if you find passion in your job (‘cause I sure as hell do,) but when employees, managers, entrepreneurs, and CEOs lose their souls in between spread-sheets and become slaves to political correctness, people start listening to the cynics and think that’s what the ‘real-world’ is like.

NO IT’S NOT.

Bottom line, people are people. Everyone has the right to let their guard down and connect with other individuals. If you’re doing what you love, why not share that love in everything you do, from the way you walk to the way you interact with others. (If you’re not doing what you love, or at least like, then go out there and find something you do!)

Be real. Move beyond dogma and archaic rules that hinder your own productivity and creativity. Bring the passion back to your life, because not only will you be happier on a personal level, but passion is just sexy. Yup, sexy. It instantly makes you more attractive (just saying)
